Music

I seem to have over-committed myself to playing saxophone and a variety of other instruments for a wide range of groups.
But I can’t seem to decide to not play with any of them. Oh well.

and occasionally

Heck, I even got to play opening night at the Santa Fe Opera once.

A few years ago a
video surfaced of me playing some serious Bach.

I started playing saxophone in 4th grade after a year of punishing my family with the violin. But we then moved to Minnesota where the schools did not start music until 7th grade--so I started saxophone again, and played all the way through college. Then stopped again.

Around 2000 our new Community Band was formed and I started playing again. Then as a substitute for the Los Alamos Big Band, then another, and another…
I kept adding instruments to my arsenal as well as groups. I play baritone mostly but add in the other saxes, a little flute, and continually more bass clarinet.
