Travel
I had been to Canada many times, went once to Europe with our family, and took a Caribbean cruise. But it was not until I turned 30 that I started exploring the world on my own. I took a month off and went to Turkey. I loved it. It was great to explore a new place on my own. Meet new people (a couple whom I still stay in touch). Eat new foods. I was hooked.Since that trip to Turkey, I have made a few dozen trips overseas and have now visited 36 countries. I have a notional goal of 50 by the time I hit 50--or at least have fun trying to get there.
I am always thinking about another place. What’s next? Where have I not been? Where would I like to return? Of course I don’t do myself any favors by watching Long Way Round, or reading Ted Simon’s books, or following any number of walking or biking adventures. I am not sure if the wanderlust is based just on the possibilities or if I really would want to strike off on an adventure like that. Perhaps there is only one way to know.

I would also like to have this as a place for travel recommendations; hotels, sights, lesser known activities suggestions. It would be great to have any thoughts or experiences you would be willing to share with others.
